Catalyzed Soot Filters (CSF)

BASF ECMS's Catalyzed Soot Filters, or CSF (also called diesel particulate filters, or DPF) are designed to reduce emissions of particulate matter (PM) from diesel engines.

The filters first trap particulates and then use patented catalytic technology to continuously burn them at normal diesel operating exhaust temperatures. Benefits include being able to trap very fine particles including those below one tenth of a micron, which includes most of the PM10. The filters can also reduce particulate matter, carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons by more than 90%.
