The Ludwigshafen zeolite production facility is integrated into the larger BASF Ludwigshafen Verbund site. The plant has 70 employees and is focused on manufacturing chabazites – the key raw material for Selective Catalytic Reduction catalyst (SCR) and Ammonia Oxidation Catalyst (AMOX) catalysts used in both light- and heavy-duty vehicle applications. The production is carried out in two dedicated plants: LU1, which has been operational since 2014, and LU2, which started production in 2018.
